The main character of the game is Talion, one of the scouts of Gondor guarding the Black Gate of Mordor. Unfortunately, during an attack by evil forces, his wife and son dies, and immediately after that he himself. However, the devastated warrior is not allowed to find peace after death, for he is resurrected and inexplicably associated with a mysterious elven specter, trapped between the worlds for so long that he forgot even his own name. The two heroes join forces and embark on a crusade against the Black Hand of Sauron - the Dark Lord's most trusted servants.<br> <br> During the campaign, we can discover the truth behind Talion's return to the world of the living and learn about the history of the Rings of Power. In the main campaign, consisting of twenty extensive missions, we encounter interesting NPCs (in several missions, among others, Gollum, well-known to fans of Tolkien's work, appear) and visit the ruins and fortresses of Mordor.<br> <br> <strong>Gameplay</strong><br> Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an action game in which we observe the events from a camera placed behind the character's back. The game consists mainly in fighting hordes of orcs using extensive combat mechanics, based on a system taken from the Arkham series devoted to Batman. The main character can perform effective melee blows, combine attacks into more complex combinations, and use special blows (including brutal executions or area attacks). In turn, thanks to the powers of the wraith, he is able to attack enemies from a distance (using a bow) and take control of wild beasts - caragors and huge graugs, which can be used as mounts - and in the later stages of the game even subdue the orcs to help him in combat. As the adversaries often have an overwhelming advantage in numbers, the mechanics of stealth, silent elimination of targets and freerunning, similar to the solutions from the Assassin's Creed series, are useful.</div>
